(AAASME) LAUDS BAYELSA’S GOV. DIRI FOR BEING SME-CENTRIC

CONGRATULATES AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION OVER NEWLY SWORN-IN AFCFTA SECRETARY-GENERAL

The All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AAASME) has lauded Governor Douye Diri over 2020 Consolidation for Prosperity Budget anchored on Wealth Creation, Development of Small & Medium Enterprises and providing enabling environment for exponential growth of Industries in the State.

In a statement issued by the Secretary-General Mr. Ebiekure Jasper Eradiri on behalf of AAASME President Ambassador (Prof.) Kheswer Jankee, the organization which is a Non-Governmental Umbrella body for Advocacy, development and support of SMEs growth in the Continent, Commended Governor Douye Diri for hinging his aforesaid Consolidation for Prosperity Budget on SMEs, Industries development which fits into the African Union SME Strategy Framework/Action plan for accelerated Industrial Development and the African Union Agenda 2063 with Prosperity for all as its first Aspiration.

The Statement further said “To ensure Prosperity we must end poverty, To end Poverty we must Create Wealth, To Create and Sustain Wealth we must feature SMEs which are the engine room for growth of any economy Worldwide. Therefore, the Government is taking the right steps and moving in the right direction to enable the attainment of shared economic prosperity for its citizens. Mr. Eradiri called on all Bayelsans to rally round to support Gov. Diri to birth a greater and more prosperous Bayelsa.

In another Development, the All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises has congratulated the African Union Commission over the recent Swearing-In of the Pioneer Secretary-General for the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat to drive the implementation of the AfCFTA Objectives as contained in the African Union Agenda 2063.

The Newly Sworn-In Secretary-General Mr. Wamkele Mene is a South African with vast experience and is resolute at opening Africa for business by promoting Intra Regional Trade, Inclusiveness and Integration amongst African Nations. The Leadership of AAASME express Confidence in the Choice of Mr. Wamkele Mene and while felicitating with him over his task to head the Secretariat in Accra, Ghana and pledge to work with him for best interest of SMEs in Africa.
