From the Desk of the Secretary-General:
I join the World in celebration of Entrepreneurs globally but specifically African Entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship is answer to solving global issues as poverty, unemployment/underemployment etc. Entrepreneurs operate Enterprises which could be Micro, Small, Medium or even Large. In an era such as the critical pandemic we find ourselves, It is Entrepreneurs who have risen to the challenge, dared the situation and moved the world forward.
However, it is also Entrepreneurs as well as MSMEs that have been impacted most economically as they lost huge sums due to the pandemic. Now, we must teach business resilience in critical times amongst others, we must encourage Innovation Driven Businesses and work out a balance for human physical workforce/labour in the new normal where Technology is heavily relied upon.
Once again, I celebrate you Entrepreneurs! Let’s together use Entrepreneurship to change the demographics economically for a more prosperous World, help accelerate the UN SDG 2030 and AU Agenda 2063.
