- About Josie D’Angelo

Josie D’Angelo is an experienced international development expert with a distinguished career at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), where she spent over two decades working in development co-operation and led the office of the Chairman of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC).
She has held several prominent international roles focused on Africa’s development. As the International Coordinator for the Initiative for Central Africa (INICA), Josie worked on cross-border trade initiatives in the Central African region, with a particular emphasis on the Democratic Republic of Congo, in collaboration with the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and based in Kigali, Rwanda.
Her work also includes contributions to the Creative Africa Initiative under the leadership of the African Union, aimed at developing a coherent and coordinated strategy for Africa’s cultural and creative industries. In 2010, she was appointed by both the Government of the Republic of Congo and the African Union as an expert for their participation in the Shanghai World Expo, under the theme “Better City, Better Life.”
For the past 17 years, Josie has served as International Director and now Chair of the Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN), a respected organization based in the Niger Delta, working to promote inclusive governance, environmental justice, and community empowerment.
