- About Emmanuel Mutabazi
Emmanuel Mutabazi is a Rwandan innovation consultant and digital skills advocate working at the intersection of Intellectual Property (IP), Digital Innovation, and Tech Policy. He is the founder of The Tuti Mutabazi Foundation (TMF) and Mutware Educate, organizations focused on empowering youth and women through technology, education, and entrepreneurship.
With a deep passion for digital transformation and sustainable development, Emmanuel has led numerous projects that bridge technology, education, and innovation across Africa. He spearheads MUTWARE KID, an educational tech initiative supported by the University of Rwanda and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), which enhances learning for children through interactive digital tools.
Internationally recognized, Emmanuel has served as a Youth Envoy for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and was selected as one of 18 Outstanding Global Youth Leaders at the World Internet Conference in China. He has spoken at forums hosted by UNESCO, WIPO, and UNITAR, advocating for ethical innovation, online safety, and inclusive digital ecosystems.
In 2024, he launched the SANGIZA Digital Innovation Training under TMF, a program backed by ITU and Huawei to equip African youth with essential digital and tech skills while promoting responsible e-waste practices.
Emmanuel’s work has also been recognized through leadership programs such as AGYLE (African-German Young Leaders in Business) and the ITU Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP). His ongoing research explores the intersection of AI ethics and IP law at KNUST (Ghana) and the University of Lucerne (Switzerland).
He continues to champion innovation as a tool for social change, with a mission to build a safer, more inclusive digital future for Africa.
